GEORGES RIVER 2050 – LEADING FOR CHANGE | Zero single use plastics Single use plastics such as straws, plastic bags, coffee lids, water bottles and food packaging are a major form of waste in waterways and contribute to landfill as they are made from non-renewable resources. A target of zero single use plastics will reduce waste and environmental impacts and follow moves by governments and the private sector across the world to ban and transition away from single use plastics.
