Moreland City Council School Holiday Program POLICY & PROCEDURE MANUAL 2.7 Food Preparation and Facilities The program venues will have as a minimum a sink, refrigerator and hot and cold running water. Staff will not provide or prepare food for the children attending the program unless, it is a planned learning activity or preparation for a “Party Day” and the venue has suitable storage facilities for such foods. Procedure: • Facilities that are compliant with the Food Act (1984) will be used (see Appendix 16) • All staff will wash their hands before preparing food for a planned activity that requires food preparation • All food is handled hygienically and staff will wear gloves when preparing food • All perishable foods, provided by staff for a cooking activity, will be kept in the refrigerator Food Quality and Safety Education on/enforce food safety regulations Victoria Moreland Metropolitan

Recognising that housing is a fundamental human right, Council will continue to advocate on behalf of the community with all levels of government, the not-for-profit and private sectors, to increase the numbers of affordable and public housing stock. Council will endeavor to reduce housing stress for residents on low incomes in the municipality by supporting programs and actions that enhance tenure security and reduce overall living costs. MORELAND MUNICIPAL PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELLBEING PLAN 2017-21 Council will establish Moreland Affordable Housing Ltd. to increase the provision of social and affordable housing options in the municipality. Council will continue to increase the supply of housing that is visitable, accessible and adaptable to meet the needs of different sectors of the community.
